Nancy has been a teacher and workshop facilitator, working with adults and children for over thirty years. An avid student of mindfulness, she has studied meditation and contemplative practice with teachers from various traditions.
After completing an intensive five year training in intimacy and relationship coaching, Nancy now shares her eclectic practice that embraces elements of emotional body work, cognitive based therapies and gestalt, with individuals, couples and groups.
Nancy (nee Fischer) has presented extensively, including at the Omega Institute, NY, Asilomar in Pacific Grove, Hollyhock Retreat Centre, BC and Harvard University. In 2013, she will present her Women’s Mindfulness and Intimacy Retreat at the Esalen Institute. Her published works include, Mind Power for Children, a Guide for Parents and Teachers, co-authored with international best selling author John Kehoe, now translated into five languages.
In addition, she authored the Mindfulness Education (M.E.) Program, a research based school program used by thousands of teachers and parents around North America.
Nancy was the Founding Director of Goldie Hawn’s Bright Light Foundation, the Executive Director of Westcoast Sacred Arts Society and is currently the Chair of Seva Canada Society and director of Seva Foundation in the US. She is also a director of the Somerset Foundation and a member of the Ashoka Support Network.
